Why all this mobilization and incitement against the Alawites, and why now in particular? After the de facto authorities' inability to govern the country became glaringly obvious, hunger gripped the lives of Syrians, insecurity prevailed, kidnappings of Alawite women and girls from schools and killings became rampant, prices skyrocketed, free cancer medication for thousands of patients was cut off, people suffered under the new hospital administrations, hospitals were filthy, and the Sunni civilian population, particularly the residents of Damascus, were addressed in a barbaric and arrogant manner. A plan, coordinated with Turkey, to seize half the shops in the Al-Hamidiyah market and others from their owners, under the pretext that they belonged to the Ottoman endowment, was revealed. Damascenes' lands in the suburbs and countryside were stolen, and they were expelled from their old markets, such as the blacksmiths' market. Hospitals were privatized, further exacerbating the people's suffering. The refugee camps were in crisis, scabies was rampant, thuggery was widespread, and chaos reigned in all government departments. Oil wells were returned to operation without any benefit to Syrians, as the Turks seized half of the production, while Syrians discovered the theft of this output amidst exorbitant electricity prices. After the Damascus sit-in, specifically, and the words of the refined, Sunni Damascene woman, nearly seventy years old, when she said: "It was America and Israel, not al-Julani, who brought down Bashar," her words spread like wildfire across the internet, shaking al-Julani's authority to its core and driving the remnants of ISIS and al-Qaeda into a frenzy. Therefore, it became necessary to incite sectarian strife against the Alawites to cover up the abysmal failure of this nascent authority. It hasn't even succeeded in inciting violence, so how can it possibly arrest the petty criminals and the high-ranking thugs who give the orders to their partners in government, such as Hamsho, Fadi Saqr, and others?!! The problem is that the recipient of this incitement was the first to glorify the massacres and turn their perpetrators into heroes. The proof is evident in the first sectarian massacre committed in Aleppo in 1981 by Ibrahim al-Youssef against 80 Alawite officer cadets. He then bombed a bus housing officers and formed the Vanguard Fighting Group, which carried out subsequent massacres. Even the Muslim Brotherhood disavowed the Vanguard's actions due to their extreme brutality at that time. This was all at the beginning. There were no lies about the Saydnaya prison, not a single slap in the face to a Syrian. The confrontations were against Israel in Lebanon. This demonstrates that the deep-seated sectarian hatred was present within the Salafist minority. Those who started the sectarian war are the forefathers of those we see today reveling in incitement. Don't present yourself, you Daesh supporter, as if you were Swiss, or that you played music for 14 years. You were shouting and calling for the slaughter of the Alawites from day one. Don't talk to us about sectarianism when you are its devoted servant, the first to practice it without any bloody aggression from the other side. You are the one who imposed massacres on the Syrians. You were the first to kill at the beginning of your peaceful revolution. The evidence is readily available, with audio and video recordings. You are the one who excelled in the "arts" of dismemberment, throwing people from balconies and bridges, both living and dead. Don't address people as if you are a peaceful civilian who knows nothing about slaughter, dismemberment, sniping, bombing children's schools, dropping hundreds of thousands of barrel bombs and mortars on civilians, or manufacturing explosives that weigh as much as a hundred barrels. Al-Julani himself claimed responsibility for the car bombings in Damascus, Homs, Aleppo, and even against Sunnis in Idlib, as well as the horrific bombings and massacres against Alawites. You slaughtered people, threw children and women into the ovens of Adra al-Ummaliyya, ripped open the bellies of pregnant women in the northern Latakia countryside, and massacred the people of Istabraq, displacing them from their homes to this day. All the incitement against the Alawite sect that you witness is but a drop in the ocean of your crimes. Even Amjad al-Youssef is less criminal than Ibrahim al-Youssef, since Amjad was killed after his brother was slaughtered, beheaded, and mutilated, unlike Ibrahim al-Youssef, whose family remained untouched before he perpetrated the massacres. We are not forgetful. Everyone knows what you did in the early days of your so-called peaceful revolution, how you slaughtered 122 unarmed soldiers and dismembered them at the Jisr al-Shughour checkpoint, how you murdered the farmer Nidal Jund in a scene of unparalleled brutality, and how you killed Brigadier General al-Talawi and his children, and mutilated their bodies. Who can forget the cages of al-Buwaydani and Alloush, and the five thousand civilians and soldiers—men, women, and children—who disappeared after you withdrew from Ghouta, leaving no trace? Turkey, which was stealing your organs in coordination with your masters—have you forgotten how Syrians were returning from Turkish hospitals, you doves of peace? The bloodsuckers have no right to accuse the victim of defending itself. If the Alawites were sectarian, they wouldn't have welcomed the families of the militants and other Sunnis for 14 years. We didn't witness a single backlash against Sunnis on the coast after your massacres in Adra al-Ummaliyah, the northern countryside, and the Homs bombings, especially the one at the children's school in the Akrama neighborhood. Unlike you, who wage a sectarian war against the Alawites at every turn. Here we clearly understand who the sectarian is. Yes, we didn't witness a single backlash against Sunnis on the coast, while hundreds of coffins carrying the bodies of Syrian Arab Army soldiers and officers arrived in the coast, Hama countryside, and Homs every week and month. We didn't see a single Alawite cleric in a video inciting your slaughter, despite the thousands of videos containing fatwas calling for the killing of Alawites, and others where you speak of the obligation to kill Alawites. You created an environment of sectarian bloodshed, and now you want to hold the victims of your own creation accountable. We are speaking here to remind you that you are not angels, nor innocent, and that you yourselves have killed thousands of Sunnis in the Damascus countryside, the Idlib countryside, and Aleppo. You were also an armed party in a two-sided military conflict, supported by the Gulf states, their media, their money, Turkey, Ukraine, the West, Jordan, and Israel. Israel treated your wounded and did not approach you throughout your war against the Syrians, and you controlled 70 percent of Syrian territory for seven years. You certainly achieved this control through suicide bombers, car bombs, heavy weapons, and Turkish, Israeli, and international air support, not through music and poetry recitations as you portray yourselves to the world. You attacked the Druze twice and committed massacres against them. The first time, the reason was a fabricated recording, the perpetrator of which confessed to fabricating it—and he was one of you. But it became clear that your fighting against those who don't share your sect doesn't require incitement, because sectarianism is deeply ingrained in Salafism. The second time, you went on without being deterred by the first crime against the Druze, and you committed horrific massacres simply because of a personal dispute. The Druze... the fact that the vast majority of them stood with you against the previous regime didn't spare them. You killed thousands of them, humiliated them, stole their property, and burned their homes. So know this: the true sectarian is the one whose true nature is revealed when power is in his hands, and how he treats his opponent. This is the difference between you and the Alawites. When the Alawites were being slaughtered by you, they welcomed you, and not a single sectarian crime was committed against you. The facts bear witness. However, since you seized power, sectarian killings have not ceased from the day you took office until this very moment. So enough with the lies to God and humanity. You are an armed group that had, and still has, prisons and fighters, and you have committed massacres and extrajudicial killings, all documented. The most important question every rational person asks is: Why was Amjad Youssef identified as an Alawite in the Tadamon massacre, while the other Sunnis who fought alongside him, including a Sunni from Daraa and the Al-Zoubi family, were excluded? You are the ones who dragged the Alawites into a bloody confrontation; the Alawites did not fight you. You were backed by wealthy Gulf satellite channels, which incited violence against Alawites daily. Has the Gulf ever stood with justice? You are the ones who were told by Qaradawi that the Alawites are infidels, and who told America: "America is waging jihad in the path of God if it bombs Damascus." Qaradawi is the one who permitted you to kill the Syrian people with his infamous statement, "So what?" All Sunnis could have lived safely and securely on the coast and in the mountains, yet Alawites cannot live in your towns after the war. Why? You call your relationship with Putin and Israel politics and intelligence. No, it is neither intelligence nor politics; it is simply submission to the powerful. Herein lies the true nature of faith: you attack the defenseless and vulnerable and flee from the powerful. The Alawites will understand this phase rationally until God replaces the sectarian and strife-ridden regime with statesmen who are psychologically and morally sound, who do not try to cover up their failures with even greater and more dangerous ones.
